
Memo to Peter Sagan: The Village People want their dance move back.
Peter Sagan (LIQ) wins his very first sprint finish of the first stage of his debut appearance in a Tour de France.
On the finish-line post-up: “I was at my house with my friends, and I asked them what I should do if I win, And I decided to do that.”
The finish was not without its controversy, however, as some cycling pundits and fans alike described the manner in which Sagan sat on behind race leader Fabian Cancellara for the final kilometer as “wheelsucking,” only to swoop around him in the final meters to power to victory. Others, like Eurosport’s Blazin’ Saddles, had a more nuanced approach to deconstructing the way the stage played out:
